When every day feels just the same;
Is it Monday today?
Or a Wednesday?
Lockdown’s a long waiting game!
The C-word is worse still than Brexit
And, God weren’t we tired of that?

Maybe I’m being naive but reading about the government’s boost to the World Health Organisation’s funding felt like quite a positive move. I liked the fact that it almost summarised the different outcomes of the pandemic since March…hence this poem about the good, the bad and the ugly!

You shut your door, stay in,
You don’t go out.
You watch TV,
Eat your dinner on the couch.

Lockdown’s Learning Curve.
We’ve had spring and summer in Lockdown
And now the nights are drawing in
It’s been so tough for everyone
Time to reflect over tonic and gin.
All human strength’s been put to the test
By this demon that no-one can see;
I’ve learned so many lessons
There have been some positive things that have come out of this pandemic. I’m grateful to my family, friends and the NHS… and also for the positivity of the Radio 2 presenters… a poem there is brewing!
