Day 197… Pandemic Fatigue.

Pandemic Fatigue.

You know you’ve got pandemic fatigue

When every day feels just the same;

Is it Monday today?

Or a Wednesday?

Lockdown’s a long waiting game!

The C-word is worse still than Brexit

And, God weren’t we tired of that?

Everyone with their views

Nothing else on the News

And now we have both to combat!

There’ve been thirty-five million cases

Deaths of a million plus;

Exhaustion and strain…

Second spike, winter’s rain;

While world-leaders keep lying to us.

Students are locked up like prisoners,

When they’re wanting to party like mad;

No drinks in the bar

Or drives in your car

To visit your folk…that’s so sad.

Meanwhile across the Atlantic

Arrogance and narcissism go on

Trump says it’s a breeze,

No signs of a wheeze!

The folly of this seems so wrong!

We must all sustain our commitment

To not spread Covid and to stay safe.

Wash hands like we’re asked,

Keep distanced, wear masks…

All these rules and restraints start to chafe.

So we’re tired of living in limbo

Awaiting a vaccine…one that’s safe to take.

With no forward plans,

Life’s not in our hands;

Tick the days off…drink wine and eat cake!
