Day 23…Rainbows

We’ve all been encouraged to put a rainbow in our window and there certainly are a lot of them out there.

Rainbows.

Red stands for blood and fire,

Passion, power and desire;

Man United, London bus,

A great big heart, full of love.

Orange is joy and happiness,

Enthusiasm and success;

A juicy fruit and bright sunshine,

Evenings out to wine and dine.

Yellow is hope and clarity,

Optimism and energy;

Bananas, lemons and soft sand,

Cowardice, deceit, being off hand.

Green is nature, the colour of life,

Harmony, freshness and no strife;

Apples, limes, grass, spring trees,

Money, jealousy and greed.

Blue is the sky and sea,

Trust, wisdom and loyalty;

Denim, sapphires, our NHS,

Tranquility and intelligence.

Indigo is power and integrity,

Justice and impartiality;

The flower, bird, tie and dye,

Perception opening the third eye.

Violet is the future and imagination,

Inspiring and calming our emotions;

An amethyst, royalty,

Faith, virtue and originality.

A rainbow is an arc in the sky,

Light rays distorted way up high;

Seven colours of the spectrum,

A pot of gold at one end beckons.

So what do rainbows now mean to us,

Painted on the roads and in our windows?

Thanks to our carers, a wish of happiness;

Light in the future… hope and promise.
